Arrest Records as a Barrier to Life Forum
Monday April 2, 7:00 – 9:00 PM
First Afrikan Presbyterian Church,
Georgia can do better! Arrest without conviction can lead to barriers in employment, licensing, housing, education, voting, benefits and immigration. For those with convictions, the challenges are even greater. Current Georgia Law does not help those with arrest or conviction records rebuild their lives. |
•This leads to high unemployment
•Destroys families and communities
•Correlates to recidivism
•Denies redemption and forgiveness & is morally unjust!
•Other states have laws in place that help reformed citizens rebuild their lives
Come learn how individuals and communities are affected; hear from elected officials and how the state of Georgia can do better.
